LEVEL UP

It’s always the right time to

#LevelUp

Have you met someone that takes pride in their work? Whether they love their job or career choice— it’s earning the paycheck they deserve or maybe even finding higher purpose that gives them a sense of accomplishment for their time, skills and effort.

Don’t we all want that? But circumstantially it doesn’t always come so easy.

So what’s holding you back? Is it imposter syndrome, complacency, fear and uncertainty around interviewing, or is it a bigger force like the pandemic at hand? Maybe it’s a mixture.

With this in mind, we created ‘Level Up: A Professional Workshop for Women Looking to Turn the Page’ that took place in Chicago on March 27th, 2021.

Working directly with members of the professional community, we pooled our resources to listen and meet participants where they were struggling.. We’ll talked through the barriers and crafted a roadmap to achieve goals, starting with the interview, i.e. a polished look, an up-to-date resume and a certain level of preparedness.

Although these foundational elements may be easy or obvious to some, for many it presents a series of challenges tied to circumstance, opportunity, timing, or any number of reasons that life can bring our way.

Sit down with one of our #LEVELUP Mentors, Courtney Bae, Founder & Creative Director of Duncan & Robyn, a socially responsible skincare line. Courtney’s message is simple and powerful.

"Think If we talked to ourselves like we talk to our best friends, think of how much better off we’d be with ourselves mentally and our self care routine. Just giving ourselves that same attention, love and respect we give our best friend. Telling yourself you deserve more and are enough as you are."

61% of women in the last 12 months, over the course of the pandemic are thinking about career changes. That’s a huge number of women. If you’re going to try to get a new job, you’ve got to be able to tell people who you are.

Tamara Edwards, Founder of TE&Co & Jasmine Hernandez, Marketing Direct of the Status Group have some pointers to get you started.

A professional headshot goes a long way and sometimes it’s not in the budget. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take it seriously or that you can’t do it yourself!

Kinda Arzon, a nationally recognized photographer has some tips to get you a quality image. Take a watch!

I have to give a huge shout out to the women who participated. It took so much courage and vulnerability to step into this experience. That’s how you change your life, by putting yourself out there and taking risks. These women did that!
