A Woman for Women
Today my YouTube series, Smart is the New Sexy finally goes live! Episode One: A Woman for Women.
It’s such an interesting time to be a woman. While we continue to see huge wins for female empowerment nationwide, there is still a lot of progress to be made. I want to be a part of that progress by pushing ideas that advance the dialogue around women in the workplace, in relationships, in media, and beyond. Smart is the New Sexy is my small contribution to this amazing movement, and I hope to inspire you all to hop on board!

An explanation of A Woman for Women, and why that’s Arsiak’s campaign. I’ve been put in situations myself where I didn’t get the help I needed from another woman. I remember saying “I want to list high rises in real estate, that’s what I wanted to do because I was so fascinated with buildings and how they were being built” - I went to a woman for help, and her response was “oh no, thats something you can’t do because there is someone else that is going to be more seasoned that can do it.” Instead of taking what I was wanting to do, encouraging me and showing me the way, she discouraged me. From that moment on I knew I never wanted to be the woman that going to tell other women they can’t do anything. Because if there is another woman in my sphere of influence or someone that is introduced to me that I can help, I want that woman to shine. I want that woman to be the best version of herself. I want to be the person to encourage that woman and say “you can do it.”
By encouraging woman, how are you going to change the world? It will be a place of kindness, and I don’t want those women by tearing men down, because there are a lot of great men out there. I’ve been through hell and back. I’ve been done wrong by men, women, family members and I’ve learned that through every possible thing we go through in life, there is always something beautiful that comes out of it. Take that and apply it into the world. By opening a door or cracking a window for someone else, thats going to make you feel better.
What does “having it all” truly mean? My definition of having it all is having a balanced life. Having a balanced life of family, love, friendship, business, career, and giving back. Having it all evolves, it’s a journey we are going on. I always say there is never a destination, because once you hit the destination you’ve stopped growing and there is nothing to look forward to. So we make stop along the ports and ways. “Having it all” is being on the journey of growth and learning.
What does “Smart is the new Sexy” mean?
As I build this series, Smart is the New Sexy, I ask this question to everyone I meet. What does it mean? Smart is something you can always take with you. It’s your brains and it’s how you’re feeling. Things come and go. There are days I look at my spouse and I’m like “ehh” but then there are days he says certain things and I’m like “wow.” It attracts me to him. And vice versa, it happens both ways! I want to help women recognize that they have that power within them. Smart is confidence, smart is having that power to power through anything and knowing who you are and being able to stand true to yourself. Nobody can take that from you. So use it, because that is so sexy.
